Attention Sophomores

HOBY - BHS Sophomores
Deadline: Talk to Mrs. Smith by December 1, 2015

One sophomore will be selected from BHS to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar in Oklahoma sometime in May or June.  This seminar brings together a select group of high school sophomores who have demonstrated leadership ability.  They interact with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, education, and other professions to discuss present and future issues.  Please see  for more information.  The school will pay for the cost of the program.  You will be asked to sign a contract that states you will cover the cost if you choose not to attend HOBY.  Cost: $350

Attention Juniors

Deadline: December 1, 2015

Leadership Oklahoma recognizes the importance of investing in our youth. We know they are the future leaders and are weary of seeing our young talent leave our state. We want to entice our youth to stay in or return to Oklahoma. With this in mind, in the summer of 2001, Leadership Oklahoma expanded its mission by building a program that would help us accomplish this goal and Youth Leadership Oklahoma (YLOK) was established.

Each year, approximately 50 exceptional high school juniors from across Oklahoma are selected for Youth Leadership Oklahoma. The class will spend June 7-12, 2015 traveling to selected locations in Oklahoma to learn about and experience our state’s treasures, meet adult community and state leaders, and develop personal leadership skills. Thanks to the generosity of Leadership Oklahoma supporters, there is no charge for students to participate in the program.
