OCCC ACT NOW Scholarship

The ACT NOW scholarship is offered as an automatic merit-based tuition waiver program for the 2015 graduating class of high school students. The waiver amounts are based on the student's composite score on the national ACT. Students who score a 21 are eligible for a 3 hour credit tuition waiver. Scores of 22 - 23 receive a 6 hour credit tuition waiver, scores of 24-26 will receive a 9 hour credit tuition waiver, and scores of 27-30 will receive a 12 hour credit tuition waiver. Students with exceptional scores a 31 or higher will receive a 15 hour credit tuition waiver. All waivers are per semester; freshman year only.

Varsity Tutors Scholarship
Deadline: Monthly
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.

Concussion Awareness Scholarship
Deadline: Monthly Cash Scholarships for 2015 (Every 7th of the month)
Up to twelve $1,000 cash scholarships for 2015. The cash scholarship may be used for any documented related expenses incurred during 2015 while pursuing your education or for any documented expenses you will incur for the 2015 college year.  Any graduate or undergraduate student (future or current) that has been accepted or attends a community college, technical/trade college, or university may apply. This "Concussion Awareness Scholarship" is available to all students not just student athletes.

Garner-Stocker Taco Mayo Scholarship

The Garner-Stocker Foundation, Inc. established the Taco Mayo Scholarship Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation with the purpose of benefiting individuals associated with Taco Mayo Franchise Systems, Inc., and assisting them in the pursuit of a college-level education. Award Amount: $1,000. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses at any accredited institution of higher education for degree or certification programs. Payments are made directly to the school.


Pete and Lela Stavros Scholarship

The Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation was established following the retirement of Pete Stavros as director of legislation for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association. Scholarships given by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation honor his career and service as a firefighter and promote the couple's interests in providing educational opportunities for the children of Oklahoma's firefighters. A permanent endowment fund was established at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in June 2002 and continues to receive contributions from association members across Oklahoma. Award Amount: $1,000. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. 


The Hunter Garner Scholarship: Project Yellow Light

Award Amount: 1st Place: $5,000, 2nd Place: $2,000, 3rd Place: $1,000. Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. As an applicant you have one clear mission: encourage your peers to develop and embrace safe driving habits. Create a video either exactly 0:25 or exactly 0:55 seconds. Here's what we're looking for. A video designed to motivate, persuade and encourage your peers to not drive distracted. You have a unique opportunity to play a key role in spreading this important message. You can speak to your peers on this subject in a way that adults cannot. The more lives you can impact, the more lives you can save. 


Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Inc.

The Oklahoma City Chapter of The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE OKC) is offering scholarships for graduating high-school seniors to be awarded for the 2017-2018 school year.  The scholarships are divided into two groups:  (1) Qualified, graduating high school seniors in SPE Oklahoma City Section's coverage area, pursuing a Petroleum Engineering Degree, or (2) The Son or Daughter of an SPE Member and enrolled in a math or science program. SPE has distributed these scholarships since 1998 and this program has been a huge success.  We need your help in finding talented young people. Successful candidates will exhibit superior communication skills and display ability in math and the sciences. The awards will be distributed when the recipient is registered and declared as a full time college freshman in an accredited university. 

Walmart Dependent Scholarship

The Walmart Foundation offers scholarship programs that benefit qualified Walmart associates and their high school senior dependents. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: 1) Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States. 2) Must be the dependent of an associate (employee) of any division of Walmart who has been actively employed with Walmart for at least six consecutive months as of April 1, 2017. Dependents of Walmart Board of Directors and dependents of Walmart officers (vice president and above) are not eligible to apply. 3) Must be a high school or home school senior graduating or earning a GED between August 1, 2015 and July 31, 2017. 4) Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents. (Note: Students with other funds that pay entirely for tuition, books, fees, and on-campus room and board are ineligible.) 


Oklahoma City All Sports Association Scholarship 
Deadline: April 4, 2018
The Oklahoma City All Sports Association awards two (2) $1,200 scholarships annually to an outstanding senior girl and senior boy graduating from a high school in the greater Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area (Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland, Logan and Pottawatomie counties, Newcastle, Tuttle and Bridge Creek). Applicants must attend a 2-year or 4-year Oklahoma college or university.  A minimum GPA of 3.0 and ACT score of 22 is required. The student must have participated in high school athletics, but must not be receiving a college or university athletic scholarship or participating as a student "walk on" athlete for any given sport. The selection will be based on attributes consistent with the mission of the association including Leadership and Character, Athletic Participation/Accomplishment, School/Civic Activities and Academics. $1,200 scholarship to an outstanding girl and $1,200 scholarship to an outstanding boy.

The Gus Archie Memorial Scholarship is a merit based scholarship supported by the SPE Foundation and awards an outstanding student who plans to enter a university and pursue an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering. The student will receive $5,000 per year for up to four years of university study. 

Jimmie L Dean Scholarship Foundation

All Scholarship awards are determined by the Foundation at the sole discretion of its Board of Directors.

First time applicants must be: (1) A continuous resident of the state of Oklahoma for the past six (6) years, (2) A graduate from an Oklahoma High School or have completed the Oklahoma High School requirements through Homeschool activities, (3) Entering an accredited Oklahoma College, University or Technical school from the list on the application page on a full-time basis for the first time in the Fall of 2017 in pursuit of a 4 year undergraduate degree from the College or University or an appropriate degree from a Technical school such as Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, (4) Graduate students and less than full time students are not eligible for an award. The funds for the awards granted will be distributed directly to the College, University or Technical School under the conditions provided during the application process. Only students who have been accepted to the College, University or Technical School will be awarded scholarships but applications will be accepted by the Foundation for consideration prior to acceptance. Please note: To be eligible for an award you must be an Oklahoma resident. Only students who attended an Oklahoma High School or were home schooled while living in Oklahoma will be considered residents by the Foundation.

Ayn Rand: The Fountainhead Scholarship

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

Eligibility: 12th Graders, College Undergraduates, and Graduate Students. 1st place $20,000 (1 Winner), 2nd place $2,000 (3 Winners), 3rd place $1,000 (5 Winners), Finalists $100 (25 Winners), Semifinalists $50 (50 Winners). Essay must be no fewer than 800 and no more than 1,600 words in length, double-spaced. Spelling errors and/or written corrections (by anyone) found on the essay will count against the final grade and should be omitted before submission.

Oklahoma Restaurant Association Scholarship

The Oklahoma Restaurant Association is pleased to present the following instructions for the state scholarship application process. This process has been streamlined in order to save you time and to help you meet the application deadline. Scholarships are offered to current culinary students and high school students. Scholarships are open to people who are enrolled in or currently enrolling in one of the following college hospitality industry programs: Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Culinary Arts Education in the state of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors Scholarship program will provide financial assistance to those applicants who are seeking a career as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. To promote the Profession of Land Surveying and increase awareness among those considering the profession of the high standards and integrity of the Land Surveying profession. Scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants who have demonstrated talent and achievement in the areas of leadership, citizenship, and genuine interest in land surveying. The Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest challenges students to create and accessorize their prom outfits with duct tape, then wear them to prom for a chance to win scholarship cash prizes. Dr. Edith King Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000. The Dr. Edith King Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 to honor the lifetime commitment and leadership of Dr. King to the field of mental health services in central Oklahoma. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited four-year nonprofit university in Oklahoma. Payments are made directly to the school. Open to all: (1) Oklahoma resident, (2) Pursuing a graduate degree that will further a career in mental health services, (3) Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to working with juveniles and/or applicants who are pursuing degrees or certification at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Oklahoma Goodwill Industries Abilities Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000. The Abilities Scholarship was established in 2006 by Oklahoma Goodwill Industries. The mission of this scholarship is to encourage individuals with disabilities to pursue their educational goals; to build a base of trained, skilled workers for a future workforce; and to increase community awareness of the commitment Oklahoma Goodwill has to the employment of persons with disabilities. 


BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. 


Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship

The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.




Walmart Associate Scholarship
Deadline: September 3, 2017
A college scholarship is available to Walmart and Sam's Club associates who are based in the U.S.Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and community involvement. The Foundation has modified its Walmart Associate Scholarship program (formerly Wal-Mart Higher Reach Scholarship), so associates pursuing associate and bachelor degrees through accredited 2-year and 4-year institutions and associates participating in the Lifelong Learning Program through American Public University are eligible to receive support. The Foundation is accepting applications and awarding Walmart Associate Scholarships multiple times throughout the year.
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States. Must be employed part-time or full-time with any division of Walmart for at least six consecutive months prior to the appropriate application due date. Must have graduated high school/home school or obtained a GED before applying or be a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll in a college or university upon graduation. If applying as a graduating high school senior, must wait to apply until you are within 6 months of starting your college courses. Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents. (Note: Students with other funds that pay entirely for tuition, books, fees, and on-campus room and board are ineligible.)

Seimens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology                                                   Deadline: September 20, 2017
The Siemens Foundation established the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology in 1999. The Competition is the nation's premiere science research competition for high school students and seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team research projects. It fosters intensive research that improves students' understanding of the value of scientific study and informs their consideration of future careers in these disciplines. You can compete as an individual or as a member of a two or three-person team. Scholarships for winning projects range from $1,000 to $100,000.

Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship

Begun in 2010, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Gaylord-Pickens Museum award one Oklahoma high school senior the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship annually. The $5,000 scholarship, which is dispersed to the winning student over four years, is based on the student's leadership roles, civic/community involvement, academic achievement and knowledge and pride of our great state.
To be considered for this award, students must commit to attend an Oklahoma college or university and must be nominated by a teacher, administrator, mentor, coach or community leader not related to the student.

QuestBridge National College Matching Program

The QuestBridge National College Match is a college and scholarship application process that helps outstanding low-income high school seniors gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation's most selective colleges. If you are a student who has achieved academic excellence in the face of economic challenges, we encourage you to apply to the National College Match. QuestBridge's partner colleges offer generous financial aid packages that cover 100% of demonstrated financial need, making them very affordable for low-income students.
Eligibility: In order to be eligible to apply for the National College Match in the fall of 2015, applicants must graduate from high school during or before the summer of 2017 and plan to enroll as a freshman in college in the fall of 2017.The QuestBridge National College Match is open to all: U.S. citizens and permanent residents & students, regardless of citizenship, currently attending high school in the United States

Vic Jackson Memorial Aviation Scholarship

Each year the Oklahoma Pilot's Association awards an aviation scholarship for a minimum amount of $2000. Any private pilot meeting the eligibility requirements listed below may apply for this scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements: State of Oklahoma resident for at least six months prior to postmarked date of application. (If your parents claim you as a dependent for income tax purposes and they reside in a state other than Oklahoma, you are a resident of that state, not Oklahoma.) Proof of U.S. Citizenship. Financial Need. Two letters of recommendation, one which must be signed by a local person actively working in or directly involved with aviation education. Private Pilot at least 18 years of age with a current medical certificate. Application and letters of recommendation must be postmarked no later than midnight, September 30, 2015. Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.80.





AES Engineering Solutions

AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education. Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition -- financial need is not considered -- that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students. The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education. The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses. This award can be used at any college or university in the United States.


Dr. Pepper Scholarship

Since 2008, Dr Pepperhas awarded over $7,000,000 in tuition. Submit your One of a Kind goal for a chance to compete to win up to $100,000 in tuition. Go to the Website. Connect with your Facebook account and authorize the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway application. Ensure your full profile is completed by updating your profile with your most current city, major and university on your personal Facebook page. Create your goal ("Goal") by answering "What is your One of a Kind goal and how do you plan to make an impact on the world?" Participants can change or modify his/her goal up until the point he/she receives 50 votes, after which point the goal is locked. Horatio Alger Oklahoma Scholarship Program

Horatio Alger Association was established in 1947 and began awarding scholarships in 1984. Since the first scholarship award the Association has awarded over $110 million in need-based aid to students who hope to pursue their American Dream.The Horatio Alger Scholarship is now available for all students graduating from high school in spring/summer 2017.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 27th class in 2015, the Foundation has provided over 5,550 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $56 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans.  RBSP competitively awards Ron Brown Scholars four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship - the four pillars of the late Ronald H. Brown's mission to uplift people of all races, cultures and ethnicities - especially our disadvantaged youth. Recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline.  Since the Program's inception in 1996, more than 300 students have been designated as Ron Brown Scholars. The Ron Brown Scholar Program currently has two deadlines for applications (students must be current high school seniors at the time of their application):November 1st - application will be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers. January 9th - final postmarked deadline in order to be considered for only the Ron Brown Scholar Program ONLY. Since the postmark is what matters, there is no advantage in sending your application by overnight delivery service. If January 9th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, your application should be postmarked by the following Monday.

The Intel Science Talent Search

The Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) is the nation's most prestigious pre-college science competition, providing an important forum for original research that is recognized and reviewed by a national jury of professional scientists. Alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and have earned many of the world's most distinguished science and math honors, including eight Nobel Prizes, five National Medals of Science and two Fields Medals. Annually, over 1,800 high school seniors from around the country accept the challenge of conducting independent science, math or engineering research and completing an entry for the Intel Science Talent Search. The Intel Science Talent Search recognizes 300 student semifinalists and their schools each year and invites 40 student finalists to Washington, D.C. to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, and meet with notable scientists and government leaders. Each year, Intel STS semifinalists and finalists compete for $1.6 million in awards.

BBG provides the Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award to recognize and reward a student who demonstrates a passion for volunteering, while maintaining a high level of academic achievement. Anita Borg believed that technology affects all aspects of our economic, political, social and personal lives. A technology rebel with a cause, in her life she fought tirelessly to ensure that technology's impact would be a positive one. It was this vision that inspired Anita in 1997 to found the Institute for Women and Technology. The AXA Achievement

The Profile in Courage Essay Contest invites United States high school students to consider the concept of political courage by writing an essay on a U.S. elected official who has chosen to do what is right, rather than what is expedient. A "Profile in Courage" essay is a carefully researched recounting of a story: the story of how an elected official risked his or her career to take a stand based on the dictates of the public good, rather than the dictates of polls, interest groups or even constituents. The contest challenges high school students to discover new profiles in courage, and to research and write about acts of political courage that occurred after the 1956 publication of John F. Kennedy's Profiles in Courage.
The Profile in Courage Essay Contest meets several Common Core Standards and National Standards in Social Studies and English and offers a meaningful opportunity for students to develop and enhance research, writing and critical thinking skills while they deepen their understanding and appreciation of politics and history.

Any Oklahoma student in Grades 10 (Sophomore) through 12 (Senior) may apply for the award by providing a piece of art that represents or portrays any conservation topic. The artwork may be two-dimensional (paintings, drawings, photographs, etc.) or three-dimensional (carvings, sculpture, etc.) and qualify as fine art, a photo assay, or an advertisement (including digitally-produced layouts). The artwork must be accompanied by an essay which outlines and elaborates upon the conservation topic depicted in the artwork itself, with this essay accounting for 33.3% of the total score during the judging process. If you (or a high-school student you know) have an interest in conservation and a talent for art, please consider an entry into the Sutton Award scholarship contest. Approximately $20,000 will be disbursed among many awardees as part of this long-running and highly effective program to stimulate conservation art among Oklahoma students.

The vegetarian resource group offers two $5,000 scholarships plus one $10,000 scholarship.Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award $20,000 in college scholarship money to graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. The Young Radiator Company established this scholarship in memory of the company's founder, Fred M. Young, Sr. Mr. Young started the company in 1927 and saw it grow to become a major force in the field of Heat Transfer. He had a high regard for the value of engineering in terms of its contribution to the success of society. One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,000.Scholarship may be renewed at $1,000 a year for three additional years (total award $4,000).


SAE Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies Scholarship

Established in 2007, The Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (Ford PAS) Scholarship was developed by the Ford Motor Company Fund in partnership with Education Development Center Inc. (EDC). It is for high school seniors who are past or present students in a Ford Next Generation Learning Community, and/ or past or present students of a Ford PAS program at their high school or in a Ford PAS afterschool/weekend/summer/college program. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded each year. 

Tau Beta Pi / SAE Engineering Scholarship

Tau Beta Pi Association, the engineering honor society, is the world's largest engineering society. Founded in 1885 at Lehigh University in 1885 by Edward Higginson Williams, Jr. Tau Beta Pi has initiated more than 505,485 members in 124 years. Active collegiate chapters exist on 234 campuses across the nation. Six scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded for the freshman year only.

TMC/SAE Donald D. Dawson Technical Scholarship

SAE and The Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations have established this technical education scholarship to honor the leadership of Donald D. Dawson. From his position as Vice President of Maintenance with Roadway Express, Mr. Dawson worked through SAE and TMC to merge the goals of truck equipment users and manufacturers. One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,500 per year. 


Anthem Essay Contest
Deadline: March 29, 2018
Students in 8th , 9th, or 10th grade must choose from one of three topics listed on the website to write an essay. Essays will be judged on whether the student is able to argue for and justify his or her view-not on whether the Institute agrees with the view the student expresses. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Anthem.


Hispanic Scholarship Fund

HSF/General College Scholarships are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to: graduating high school seniors, community college transfer students, undergraduate students, & graduate students.Award amounts generally range from $500 to $5,000.

Oklahoma State Fair Scholarship
March 31, 2018
One-time $2,500 award based on overall scholastic performance, leadership, community involvement and verifiable participation in the competitive programs (e.g. horse, livestock, creative arts or other competitions) at the Oklahoma State Fair, if applicable. While State Fair participation is not mandatory, it will be weighted along with the other criteria during the selection process.
